Saturday we set off early in the morning at 6.50am. Making our way to Wu dang Shan, which took us 6 long hours in the bus to reach there.

Wu Dang Shan which is located in Hubei province of China. The mountains of Wudang were known for the many Taoist monasteries to be found there, monasteries which became known as an academic centre for the research, teaching and practise of meditation, Chinese martial arts, traditional Chinese medicine, Taoist agriculture practices and related arts.

Upon reaching wudang, we proceed to have our lunch at a restaurant which serves many nice hometown dishes. After which, we went up the wudang shan and explore the places up there. Shutter buses were which brought us up the turn left and right throughout running up. It consists of 108 turns, headaches and giddiness were felt so most of the time, i take this chance to sleep and have more rest.

The Second day of the trip was back to wudang shan, this time we are given the chance to climb or to choose to take the cable car up to the highest point of the mountain. Our ECE students all choose to take the cable car. We ended up queueing for 1 and a half hour. Sigh! Many china people cutting queue and making a fuss, i found out that china people skin are very thick, they felt no embarrassment at all even when being confront , should have climb up instead as by the time we reached the top, other students from other department have reached the top by climbing.

Many locks are being lock to the chain around the temple at the peak of the mountain. As it is believed that if the couple lock both of their locks together on the chain on the temple, it would lock their loves together forever. So if you happen to be there, don’t be surprise if you find tons of locks surrounded the temple.

As time goes by, it is time to make our journey back to wuhan. 6 long hours of bus ride back to hostel. Everyone was exhausted, almost everyone was sleeping on the bus. But for me, i had stomachaches from the start of the journey and hold the pain for about 3.5 hours before the bus reached a toilet. The experience was unbelievable! Lucky for me, I need not have to shit at any bushes along the expressway. Pew!!!

SPOT ME ON THE BUS CAN YOU?

tou jiang!! you tiao!! My roommate wake me up by calling it several times. I woke up immediately and get ready for my wonderful breakfast. See, my friends often brought bread the day before for the next day breakfast, i always insist on buying tou jiang and you tiao. There is a reason for it, cause we are in CHINA and tou jiang, you tiao are real classic breakfast.

After breakfast, went for the early classes which is the about commerial setup and success strategy, the teacher was from china and he uses english to teach, could cool was that!!! Even so, the way he speak english was like a japanese trying to speak english, which was quite funny. Lessons lasted for 4 long hours, after which, our teacher in charge told us that the afternoon classes will starts at 1pm instead of 2pm as he will be letting us off early at 3pm. The reason was he wanted us to visit the digital computer street located 4-5 stops away from lu xiang guang chang.

Afternoon class ended, went with a few group of friends to the computer centre, took bus 901 and 30 min to the place. Bus was always pack with people, maybe it was due to the size of the bus which is small. Reached the place and took my group photo to prove we are there.

The whole place was huge, many shopping centre with computer and electronic shops located insides. we explore the place, the whole experience was different from our singapore SIM LIM SQUARE. Every sale person were very passionate in promoting their stuffs, most brands we saw were their own country brand which were never seen before. They even have a second hand section located in an entire storey of the building, which sells computer parts, digital cameras, MP3, MP4 all second hand/used product for a cheaper price.

Unfortunately, those new electronic products which are international brands are priced more expensively then singapore, even after discount. We did not shop more as the shopping centre there closed sharply at 6pm. The place soon become hectic as everyone was rushing home. We met up with other groups shortly and went back to our school hostel by taking bus as it is cheap ( cost 2 yuan). Again, the bus was very packed and everyone just squeze in just to get a cheaper ride back.

Wake up very early today. As yesterday night, our teacher told us we will be visiting a steel making factory today. Get my breakfast done and we set off in the school bus at 7.15am. we spend about an hour to get to wuhan university of science and technology (main branch). At the school we change to another bus and spent around 45min the the steel factory.

The place is call Wuhan Gang Tie Qi Ye (武汉钢铁企业). It is the 3rd largest steel making factory in China. Once reached, we put on the safely orange cap and went in. As cameras are not allowed inside, no picture can show what is all about inside. Basically, we just walk along the pathway inside and see the process of how steel are being roll up, reshape and cooling it. The whole walk took about 20min. Inside the factory was warm and noisy, now i could understand the enviroment of china workers work in this condition.

After which, we took back the bus back. Our teacher allowed the bus to put us down at lu xiang guang chang for lunch before the class starts at 3pm. The bus journey was long as the driver took the wrong direction many times. After around 2 hours, we finally reached the place and settle my lunch there.

Class started at 3pm. A chapter was taught on APPG for the day. I felt that at least something was taught today as i thought that the visiting of the steel factry was abit wasting on the time as it took what a long journey to the destination. Anyway an experience was felt on how is it like to be working in a hot and dangerous location.

Lessons as usual today, started at 9am. We started new chapter for APPG. As today, we have an interaction with china students again. I meet china student leaders in the noon to have a plan on what program we can have for tonight gathering. As it is private and confidential, only me and Ben went.

After afternoon lessons, which our teacher let us off early to prepare the snacks and program. I and Ben went out of school with the china student leaders to buy what we need. Got everything prepare and the gathering started at 6pm.

The gathering was a success with everything we needed. Sound and lighting system were there to create a better atmosphere. Fun games, song singing were there, creating laugher and joy. From this second interaction ,we get to know more about china people and their culture.

On Friday, i was supposed to wake up early so i could have my breakfast before boarding the tour bus. In the end I woke up 7.05am when we are suppose to meet at 7.20am. Rush through the hot shower and wait for the water to boil to fill up my bottle. I was the last one who boarded the bus. What a joke i am. wahaha

We had to travel for about 5 hours to yi chang which is located outside wuhan along the Yangtze River. We then had our late breakfast at a hotel restaurant. Soon, with another hour with passing through all the tunnels and mountains we reached the 3 gorges dam.It is the largest hydroelectric power station in the world. It take about 4 hours to bring a boat up/down the dam which consist of 5 stages.

The dam use as flood control and power generation but many are sacrifice archaeological and cultural sites , displaced some 1.24 million people, and is causing great ecological changes.
Many different views of the dam were explored and seen.

After viewing, we headed back to the same hotel restaurant to have our lunch, we proceeded to the harbour to board on to our ship call " yin yue liang".1 day, 2 nights were spend on the cruise.
At around 11pm, We are experiencing the process of bringing the boat up Gezhou Dam which is completed in 1988 . The whole experience was a great new and learning process. After the process ended, most of the people headed back to have a good rest.



The next morning we woke up early and changes to a smaller viewing boat and headed right into the Shennong Stream. Over the cliff of rocky surface or some cave holes, there lies the evidence of suspended or hanging coffin. It is an ancient burial system of Tujia ethic. Coffin were caught visible on the cliff while cruising along Shennong Stream . Most of the coffins are gone due to archeological study or washed away by the elevation of water level. These hanging coffin were made of tree trunk and usually positioned on wooden planked nailed to the cliff of the mountains. The belief of buried high, as close as possible to the sky will allow the soul to be closer to God as we were told.

Soon, we change to a smaller boat as we are in the shallow spots at the vicinity of Three Great Gorges of the Tujia ethnic. After taking the small boat to the shallow water, it is their tradition to pull the boat up against the current of the water using ropes

On the way back, we were entertained by our local tour guide.She sang us a few Tujia folk song and promote their local folk songs CD for us to purchase, which some of us did.

After visiting the tujia ethic, we proceeded back to our main boat and sail up the Yangtze river and pass by many mountain. If you happen to hold on to a 10RMB note, there is a valley of mountain seen at the back of the note. We are there at that point of time. We reached the area walk up to the harbour, take a small bus ride and soon we reached our next destination, "baidichen". There we see historical items and listen to the legend of famous peoples from the novel of the romance of the 3 kingdoms.

The area there are famous for comb made from wood of the trees which age are a few hundred years. As times goes by, by the time we left the place was already 830pm. As we are walking to the harbour, i went to buy local fried seafood which was very nice.

We spent the night back in our cruise and headed back to yi chang in the night, many unforgotten scenery remembered. We took bus in the morning which lasted us about 8 hours, and finally we are safety back in our hostel.

After lesson ended today. We have a friendly basketball match with the china student as an interaction program. We won the game, the china student were very good at the game scoring points by points. The china teacher do join in too and was good at shooting 3 points shoot.
Me myself just score 4 points which is only 2 shoots, other team mate score much more.

The game were great, this interaction allow me to know more about the china student and the unity they have. More things could be learn from them.

Went for lessons for yesterday and today, New lessons were taught. Yesterday we are exploring APPG, which require Window visual studio, i spent the whole day uninstall the 2005 version and another half a day installing the 2008. Real killer! Most of them have finished doing their assignment, and i am like a fool waiting for the program to be install so i could do my work. ARHHHH!

In the end, i spent the night in the hostel doing my assigment. That day, i learn many stuffs from the first chapter. Using many functions and code to work the program out.

As for today, i spent time seeing other group presenting their IS project, my team have done it last week. At 10am i as a representative went to meet some wuhan student to have a meeting on what we are going to do for the pupils interaction program. We suggested on a basketball match and some other program. We even chat on our different life style. Quite cool people in china too i thought.

Time files...lesson ended early today, basketball and soccer were played within our ownselves. Once again i think that the shooting board is place higher then singapore, but then many people still manage to shoot well.
